Sleep

Sleep

				As evening shadows setting sun,
				Dark night, relentless, spreads.
				When daylight hours are done
Sleep stirs in her secret bed.

				Dark night, relentless, spreads
				Where Intellect, a foreigner, strays.
Sleep stirs in her secret bed,
				Unfettered, imagination plays.

				Where Intellect, a foreigner, strays
Morpheus wakes in the sleeping mind,
				Unfettered, imagination plays.
				Ancient spectres stalk the land.

Morpheus wakes in the sleeping mind
				When daylight hours are done.
				Ancient spectres stalk the land
				As evening shadows setting sun.
