I remember when I worked at the Hilton Hotel in Philadelphia years ago Elton and Bernie Taupin came in as giests and the lobby was immediately filled and buzzing for autographs.. so fun..

Thanks, Linda! I, too, love his music. He is a great lyricist. Although I have to admit, Bruce Springsteen is my favorite. I'll have to attempt a Springsteen clerihew!!

YOu did fantabulous!!! Just didn't need the last line. Clerihew is only four lines. And if you end it with love of his life, I think that is a very good ending!

Thanks, Carolyn. I saw him in the early 90s with Billy Joel. His outfits were subdued then compared to his earlier days! I wasn't sure about the form. Ill check on it. Blessings, Rhonda

A very enjoyable poem, Rhonda. I got to see Elton John perform with all his glitzy outfits. Few can write songs as well as he and his tribute to Princess Di (England's Rose) is a beautiful video on youtube. I think the clerihew has four lines, so you might want to check the form. Wishing you success in the clerihew contest! Love, Carolyn
