Written: December 31, 2023, For Unseeking Seeker Contest _____________________________________ “God within me is the enjoyer of the aroma As also this dopamine boosting flavour I taste I surrender all pleasures to the dweller of my heart Breath by breath thus that my soul presence be chaste” I wrestle symbolically every day, While whisking my whimsical mind For palatable aroma of java-laced cream Each tantalizing sip satiates soul scarcity, I taste dopamine-inducing elixir Idly percolating aromas amplify, blissfully My psyche turns olfactory with each breath Savoring pureness of quench coffee True coffee lovers' sacred rite Bred from mountain slope flora Large, roasted grains Combined with chives Espresso of our selection Invigorating the poetic muse. A cloying symphony lingers Caramel, chocolate, hints Roasted beans croon a melody Susurrous sumptuous surreptitious startling soul's sempiternal shields Java ushered to an ambrosian niche Where time halts and fears sway All worries dissolve Java-infused serenade heals this soul. Weary-treating opulent, black potion Comforting and cheering Sips reveal life's essence A hint of sonata transcends clash Every sip is a sensory delight A fabulous favor, a flavor flipping Utopian bitterness-sweetness mix An inexhaustible smorgasbord style. Aphonic aqua vitae aurifies my soul Seeking solace in stories of slight delights In this brew, I uncover truth A breath of blissfulness brings youth Let aroma spread as I sip and relish Nurturing and boldening my soul I am enamored with Java core virtues An idyllic instant resolves everything Breath to breathe, I'll purify my soul Savor and sustain every drop During my coffee ritual Feel a link to a bit victual.

What a brilliant write this is, dear Sotto.. You've perfectly captured the essence of coffee and those sips which bring delight to our hearts! So full of splendor and exciting reveries.. I absolutely adore the aroma of coffee, it's so alluring and cosy, like a coffee sunset.. "Caramel, chocolate, hints Roasted beans croon a melody" Mmmm sooo delicious!! "An idyllic instant resolves everything Breath to breathe, I'll purify my soul" Wonderful wordplay as these lines dive in deep feelings too..

"Roasted beans croon a melody Susurrous sumptuous surreptitious startling soul's sempiternal shields". What beauty for these lines with their musical alliteration. Your poem is equally a delight as a cup of espresso coffee in the morning. I can so well relate. the aroma of hill grown roasted coffee bean is so intoxicating to the olfactory senses. This poem truly stands out in its beauty and skillful composition and goes into my FAVE. Have a Happy New Year dear friend

You've outdone yourself here, Sotto. You've captured the sensory experience of drinking coffee. I especially liked "Bred from mountain slope flora Large, roasted grains Combined with chives Espresso of our selection Invigorating the poetic muse. Probably a little too strong for my taste...I prefer hot tea or an icy cold Diet Dr. Pepper chocked full of caffeine to waken my muse :-) I digress. Best wishes with the contest. your poetess friend in Texas, Sara

MY coffee is essential. I write with it. I wake with it. LOL. You wrote a 'stirring' diction about it. A pleasure!

I really hate the taste of coffee. Nothing! No amount of sugar and no amount of cream makes it taste good. And I know that I am a lone wolf with that opinion but give me a hot cup of herbal tea instead. Peppermint is great to calm down a crazy tummy and chamomile was the tea of choice when my mom passed away. Caffeine, that particular day was not going to be a thing.

I think tea is probably better in the long run, for health, but I never developed a taste for it. One cup of coffee in the morning and I'm good

The language is lush and vivid, painting a picture of you whisking your whimsical mind for the aroma of java-laced cream. The sensory experience of the coffee is beautifully conveyed, from the tantalizing sip that satiates soul scarcity to the dopamine-inducing elixir that invigorates the poetic muse. The imagery of percolating aromas and the olfactory engagement with each breath add a layer of sensory richness to the poem...
