Simple Beauty

Of simple beauty is the grace Of flowers painted in a vase The petals painted pink are placed Among the leafy stems well traced As blossoms go, they know their place The petals paint a pretty face They strike a lustrous, vivid hue Within this painted vase of blue Although inert, they somehow move Within the span of their remove They draw the eye in witness to Their bursting out; for what they do Is illustrate the beautiful In pretty vases painted blue

Great poem. I'd love to see a photo of your son's painting. That said John your words create the images of a painting unseen beautifully. Kudos all round. Cheers - Gary

Budda boom! This is actually a response to a painting one of my sons did. Simple, bold, nothing fancy. I wanted to capture how, even though it is a painting, it still "moves" and "bursts" upon the passing eye. All good - !
