Silly Fools
CONTEST:I have dipped my pen in the sublime, it is my gift to you…
I have dipped my pen in the sublime, it is my gift to you…
I walked a wall high across this world
I looked down at the scuttering of life
And mumbled what silly fools
I strode down lovers lane
Hands in my pocket
I shook my head
And whispered what silly fools
I walked among the graves
Stepping lightly over untouched flowers
Admiring the waste
Sneering what silly fools
I walked the back alleys
The lonely docks
The busiest of streets
I walked passed the crosses as they beckoned me in
All the while seeing only silly fools
But then I stepped into your garden
And it was quicksand to my heart
I tried to yell what a silly fool
But my mouth would not work
And then I finally realized what I had been searching for
And so I pulled out my pen
And wrote this gift to you
‘Love all thy have
With thy whole heart
What’s right in front of you
Love it right from the start
Cus you’ll wonder and search
For things more precious then gold
But by the time you find it you’ll be to old’
And as I wrote these last words
I managed to say
I have dipped my pen in the sublime, it is my gift to you…
And I died
