Silhouette

Silhouette Written: by Tom Wright January 2015 A country singer Led on stage by balloon bouquet, Spotlights Silhouette her body On the wall behind; As she faces a sea of noise Or canned noise Since she can’t see; Thick rising stage fog Begins to envelope her body As the show begins; Just another night, another city, Another payday; How ironic, would it be If she stood alone lip-syncing To a screaming crowd that didn’t exist. Who then would be the counterfeit one?
