Silent Night
The night seems so still and revered by many,
Tranquil shadows of the half moon above,
Heavenly halo's of peace and plenty,
Full of joy and the release of turtledoves.
We all gather while holding hands,
All strangers from my neighborhood,
And as our circle of trust quietly expands,
The reason for this day is instantly understood.
For the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ,
Has brought a bright star in the sky,
All shall follow it until He arrives,
While the shepherds wait and angels cry.
"Alleluia" has been sung and heard,
The Virgin Mother has brought us a child,
Oh, how our prayers have been answered,
A gift so big for the world, yet so mild.
The night seems so still and revered by many,
Calming sensation throughout the universe,
Seems like a dream or formal imagery,
I am so humbly immersed and undeserved.
Holy and sacred, consecrated yet small,
Our dear Savior has come to save us,
As we all sing “Peace and joy to us all",
Watching the sun settle falling into dusk.
