Silence
Silence
Life often lives in silence on tippy toes
In the forest who hears the soft snowflakes fall
Dew evaporating – the earth turning slow.
Which ears discern the musical sunlight’s call
Wistful ballads sung in shadows of stars -
Platinum midnight dripping from moonlight’s shawl.
As raindrops swell in clouds from afar
What dulcet hues in twilight’s soprano intones –
Orion’s deaf twinkle - dawn's silhouette.
No rhythmic sounds of blooms in natal tones
Nature muted as leaves return to earth
While dreams lose their voices with laryngic stones.
What sounds pulse from compassion’s birth?
Who hears the agony of a heart breaking?
Who hears a smile breaking out in mirth?
Silent sighs reverberate in void’s girth
Life often lives in silence on tippy toes
Who hears the agony of a heart breaking,
Dew evaporating – the earth turning slow.
