Signs

Who came up with
Keep off the grass?
How then does it get mowed?
And then that obnoxious sign; STOP?
But nothing to tell you, GO.
And then that silly sign ahead
That states emphatically
WATCH OUT FOR FALLING ROCKS
But as you’re watching overhead
You wreck and your car’s a flop
And YIELD, oh what a waste….
As we just zoom right on past
But the best one I’ve seen lately
Was really a huge blast
HANDICAP PARKING ONLY
But no elevator to the second floor
And I’d better sign off now
As my fingers are sort of sore
And you ain’t gonna read no more and
I got to go to the store
And I’m getting locked out of the door
And I promise not to write anymore.
