Showtime

Walking down the Great White Broadway Lane The marquee street That just came be beat Some say I could be lame The dialog of having pride As the music started to pump up A reason to sing came Now hold your ears, they might pop A dream came true It was a wonder if I should pursue It was years in the thinking A one day to entertain My inspiring heart that will remain But there’s more A need for Acting to explore At some point, acting came to life I succeeded without any advice But it would have been nice I alone with a multitude cast with sing and acting on the wide stage Amazement A dream began to unfold Let me assure you, I didn’t need to be told Just bold My father was an Alcoholic all his life Many days and nights, I would cry urging my dad to quit Words of encouragement just wasn’t it He would argue with me and stating he wanted to die He didn’t want to live anymore Never knew the reason Eventually, he did pass away I found out later that he felt like a failure being a father Being an Alcoholic was not the way It doesn’t end the battle, but keeps one fighting for more trouble It’s like a constant fall with consistent stumble Somewhere and somehow, dad is looking down on me My dad in me is what people see Legacy inclined Stepping out on courage Entertainment nourishment Applaud-ish
