Show Me the Road To Paradise
where is the road to Paradise?
will someone please show me the way?
have lived life without any vice,
but I have never learnt to pray!
the Priest’s sermon was full of verse
he read from an old, old scripture,
he was greedy and took my purse,
as price for his holy lecture!
the temple bells chime, chime all day,
a divine sound that fills the air,
won’t be blessed if you don't pay,
is sale of blessings any fair?
they rushed to the mosque for their prayers,
Friday en masse to bow their heads,
they rushed passed hungry street beggars,
could they have stopped, fed them instead?
I have turned pages of Holy books,
to read stories of bygone days,
moral truth is not what it looks,
nor is earth as flat as it says!
So will someone please tell the way,
to much sought haven, paradise?
meanwhile I think best way to pray,
is to do good and do no vice!
