Shivering Applause
We lie beneath a bed of endless snow
a dream in frozen fantasy imbued
await the barking call of blue-black crow
to join again the festival renewed
bask in the sun amid cold water's flow
and brashly flaunt our brilliance un-subdued.
So do the buds in shivering applause
bid curtain call to winter's final pause.
