Shivering

Shivering in the Sun, chills from unbearable heat; Back home on the couch again; The high is wearing off; I might be feeling now, gotta take this shirt off; It’s stained with all my thoughts, like sweat you can’t wipe off; Shaking all over, shallow breathing again; Why are you rocking me so hard? Why linger in my head? The shakes intensify, as the fever begins to spread; I dive through a sheet of ice; I wake up; What’s that look in your eyes? You smile and say, ‘It’s confusion crossed with moonlight.’
