Shelter

She wandered along the path
Picking white daisies on her way
Following the trail of clouds above
The sun spread words she couldn’t say

Her heart full of love, no-where to go
Walking beside the open fields to see
Pieces of nature blowing in the wind
With miles ahead where she could flee

There, maybe her dreams waited
It seems she had searched so long
Keeping her own company
Always humming her faithful song

It was as if the friendly birds knew
Looking at her with curiosity
She only wanted to shelter herself
From a world filled with animosity

Beautiful and very poignant piece my friend. Reminds me of a beautiful female coyote that had been shunned by the pack. Her mate killed on the highway she tried desperately to make friends with my German Shepherd. I wished I could bring her home with me but I feared she may kill my cats. I named her Lady Coyote and will never forget her. God Bless, JB

Exactly how I felt at age 12; were it not for sex, I would have happily disappeared in the mountains. Aloha! Rico
