She Wept In Silence

she wept
  in silence
       onto cascading
             flowers

       roses
  and peonies
       in her wedding
            bouquet

Jenna, I loved the ambiguity of this septolet, allowing the reader to draw their own conclusion. Tears can be happy ones or sad, or oftentimes a combination of many emotions. The beauty of the flowers and the significance of the event adds to the gravitas, and all in only 14 words. I congratulate you for your win with this marvelous write ~ John

Hi, Linda, I smiled when I read your comment. It was my intent to leave the reason for her tears to the reader. Happy for marrying the man she loved, or sad because of it?

Hello Jenna Logan, a weeping bride! I was a weeping bride's maid. A weeping bride! Enjoy your day my friend.
