She Tells Me

She tells me every time she reads what I write Her head goes up in the clouds The same feeling she gets when I turn her pages Handling each fold of her flower ever so gentle She tells me every time she reads my poems I remind her of her favourite author Cause I put her on pause And press play on her emotions She tells me every time she reads my words out loud There's an air of silence that comes around And every word from the book comes alive That's why at times she closes her eyes to feel them She tells me every time she reads what I write She's unsure if I describe her in my words Cause I make her out as someone beautiful While all she sees in the mirror is just a shy girl She tells me every time she reads my words She's jealous that everyone will want a piece, of me cause with every piece I keep them longing Longing for the next piece that I'll put out She tells me that the day I stop writing Is the day she'll stop reading Cause for now she's trying to understand, what goes in my mind. For it's only in poems that I share a lot The PO£T
