She Stands Beside the Sea

she stands beside the sea
a tear escapes, runs down her face
melancholy comes to embrace
the past won’t set her free
lost love decays without a trace

In his song "And I Love Her So," Don McLean has a similar message and describes how "the night won't set me free." I have always loved the song and now I love your poem too...
