Shatterer of Worlds

Shatterer of Worlds Good morning saboteur of words What is it today, what is it today now? Fatman or little boy? Bubble girl and Busy lobster Seems so distant now lead us all astray somehow It sounds shielded and protected Cluster pearl, hawk and chase Doesn’t sound nearly as destructive Author of code names What’s it gonna be what’s it gonna be now? Am I divine strake Would my life will be at stake Experiment canceled Who could forget about the trinity test? The life you’ve messed Of course they’re not planned Caused disarray come what may Are they randomly chosen? Who’s heart will be broken? How I've held onto somehow Doesn’t it surprise you now? Goodnight shatterer of worlds This might sound absurd Who’s it gonna be, who’s it gonna be now? It won’t be me again I made that clear in the end. Picking up the pieces that you’ve left Put my bullet vest To the test If I see you Iron-clad this time, I'm brand new.

glad i came across this - powerful phrasings, solid tempo, punchy, rhythmic - a pleasure to read

It has always been a mystery how these names get chosen, but I agree the passive aggressive, sinister 'sounds harmless' element makes them seem evermore evil-mastermind-ish. Intriguing, enjoyable poetic subject matter :)

Thank you Sam. I saw you read the Storm Poem I just posted. I was debating on whether the voice will be first or third person. It was quite stormy to say the least.

Sam, I just posted a Storm Poem. It is haphazard and tempestuous, just like the poet.

Thank you Sam. It is so crazy how the naming of storms are done according to strict procedures mandated by the World Meteorological Organization. Some feminists would argue about naming the storms after females. I haven't heard about a storm named after me. I will write about it then. Keep an eye out for it!

I love unusual topics! This has really got me thinking.. it is a similar thing with the choice of storm names. It is not funny of course, but when "Cecilia tore the roof of my garage" hits the news the more apparently harmless the name the more devastating the destruction - I sense a pattern! ;) I enjoyed your poem.

I realized I didn't upload the entire poem. I think they pick a seemingly harmless sounding name that seems part of a regular conversation like I will drop of the "little boy" in school or pick up the "fat man" from the train station or whatever the case maybe. I was just drawn to it since we learned from school bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945, caused so much destruction and the names chosen for those bombs were sound so harmless. Not a usual topic for a poet I guess.

I don't think I'll pick fatman or little boy as my option. Is there a third? Have a nice week

I don't know if you're familiar with bombs. They use code names such as "fat man" for a uranium or "little boy" plutonium type bombs to avoid detection. I was just referencing to codes that conceal something. Some sound so innocent but they are implosive and detrimental. Thanks Tom for stopping by. You're the bomb. lol. You have a great week as well.
