Shall I Compare Thee To a Work of Art

Shall I compare thee to a work of art which hangs eternal on museum wall? Her smile forever sets this piece apart; to all the Mona Lisa does enthrall. The smile created by the artist’s brush is frozen now throughout eternity; a placid face, and skin without a blush; a cold and lonely smile for all to see, but, gleaming, your bright smile lights up the day; a ray of sunshine meant for all to view. Unlike the Mona Lisa cold and gray, through soft brown eyes your love’s a shining hue; and though we’ll pass, the grace your words impart will ever show the beauty of your heart. October 22, 2019

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So true is this statement. To truly embrace a work of art, is seeing beauty within, and watching it shine on the outside.. Your thoughts bring a smile. :) Brandy

Thank you for your thoughts, Brandy, I agree, to see the inward beauty as well as the outward beauty is to truly embrace the work of art. All the best to you. Hugs, John

Lovely, John! I took that trip to the Louvre and I found her beautiful. I went to the Portland museum recently and saw an original Renoir and fell smashingly in love. Pictures/copies do not do Renoir justice. Those beautiful frosting-like brushstrokes...oh my!

Thank you, Kim, I appreciate your thoughts and comments. There are a couple Renoir's here in the Dallas Museum of Art as well. I agree, his work is stunning. Hugs, John
