Shakespeare In 2023

I, Shakespeare, the greatest name in Literature. Like Rumpelstiltskin, have woken up in a world better worth living in life. Smart strange fashion of cloths that flatter and others so short unbecoming a mistress or sir, a look at etiquette and behavior. I am honored to be in a world of high towering structures, made out of concrete, brick, and asphalt. Motorize machines of steel and tire, transport they call buses, cars, and serpents those gents call trains. Passing, they stop, start like cattle as lights flash green, yellow, and stop on red. Silver dragons they call planes, fly through the cloud fill sky between heavens and earth. Beds so soft to curl up and sleep as easily on a pile of hay. A box called a television, a family point of evenings’ entertainment or the spread of poison. I have seen among them; time is short and should not be wasted. 1/13/2023 Shakespeare in 2023 Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Anoucheka Gangabissoon

Eve, very creative in imaging what the Bard would write about us. I particularly enjoyed "serpents those gents call trains" and "silver dragons they call planes". Congratulations for your win. Hugs ~ John
