Shadows On the Wall

Nights reflected by shadows on the wall
Candle flame silhouettes that rise and fall
In our hearts the fire grows even brighter
arms locked around each other ever tighter

Fervent heat of a love forged long ago
moves in rhythmic currents as warm streams flow
at streams end is our place of rendezvous
untouched by none, except for me and you

When night is over and sun starts to rise
your face I see when opening my eyes
A soft smile of contentment will I wear
knowing each night, my love, you will be there

When darkness of night transcends into morn
I wake to love, which each day seems newborn

Very gorgeous sonnet, Lin. So pleasant to read from beginning to end. I especially love those closing lines. A satisfying composition! "Fervent heat of a love forged long ago moves in rhythmic currents as warm streams flow" really love those lines in particular as well. Always, Laura
