Shadow, Parts I and Ii
Part I:
I am a ghost of myself
A shadow of what once was
Spirit in a box high on a shelf
Collect dust, that's all it ever does
Soul in a jar under my bed
Childhood innocence I have lost
At first I thought myself to be dead
Look at all I had that has been tossed
In dusty corners of my mind it was laid
Hard to believe it once held such vivid verve
Lying there, knowing it was betrayed
When did life take such a dark curve?\
Part II:
This shadow of what once was
Leave my spirit on that shelf
Let it collect dust because,
That's how it was meant to be
Predestined in the stars that shine above
Out of sight, don't want to see
The remains of my waning love
Follow the dark curve into tomorrow
Wherever it may twist or turn
Even if it brings me sorrow
There's so much darkness left to learn
