Shades of Gray

A day with tales of woe, within the hues of gray. Sky above, ocean below, complete the dreary display. Morning quietly slips away, afternoon brings no change. Ominous clouds, hover over the bay, light beyond, is out of range. Rain now falls, from the dismal sky, as the clock marks the hours gone. The mist settles in to stay, with no intent to move on. Unaware, bits of gray filter through. To touch what lies within. A shadowed spirit needs to renew, to allow one's inner power to begin. The light of a willing soul, can brighten the darkest days. Inner strength can control, all of the shades of gray.

Great poem Sandy. I love the last stanza! Well done. It is cold here with on and off rain and more rain tomorrow. But we are breaking records with 40's in May ! I hope you have a nice evening :)

Too many shades of gray at times. Thank you Heidi.

Sandra, your poem reminded me of days in San Francisco! But, I always (like you) tried to keep in mind that "Inner strength can control all of the shades of gray." So, so true. Well-written. Thanks!

Thank you Milton. Seeing San Francisco, I see your reference. I remember the Golden Gate Bridge disappearing into the heavy mist.
