Sexual Taboos
Passionate kisses conjure a spell
igniting sparks that are hard to quell.
And love’s exquisite persistent flame
seduces young lovers to play its game.
Sexual taboos on the decline
sex and death soon secretly combine.
And innocence starts to question God
visiting a plot of upturned sod.
You stand there with a hand full of dirt
feeling the stares you tried to divert.
And as time progresses you regret
the special moments you can’t forget.
Relying on chance is a fool’s goal
weigh the cost before you pay lust’s toll.
For AIDS rewards promiscuous years
with an early grave and muted fears.
