Severing Strings
Through poetry, I speak of hopes and fears
interlaced with feelings tethered to tears.
And connecting with lonely, broken hearts:
my words seamlessly merge with the sad parts.
Severing strings that manipulate life,
poetry can cut deep as any knife.
Family and friends lay the foundations;
upon which I expose life's frustrations.
Knowing the value of a smile is rare,
though it is the first pleasure that we share.
My words give voice to your faith, hope, and pride;
and mutually mourn the dreams that died.
Poetry lets me be you, and you me,
we share ears to listen and eyes to see.
My poems align your mind, soul, and heart,
anchoring thoughts before they drift apart.
