Severing Strings
Through poetry, I share my hopes and fears
while exploring feelings fueled by tears.
When conversing with lonely, broken hearts,
my words comfort, merging with the sad parts.
Severing strings that manipulate life,
poetry can cut clean as any knife.
Family and friends lay the foundations
upon which I expose life's frustrations.
Even though it's the first pleasure we share,
knowing the value of a smile is rare.
My poems speak of love, faith, hope, and pride;
while reality mourns the thoughts that died.
Through poems, l feel you, and you feel me,
we share ears to listen and eyes to see.
Poetry expresses mind, soul, and heart,
anchoring thoughts before they drift apart.
