Serenity
“Serenity is more a state of mind, enhanced by the environment, but destroyed by disquieting circumstances. It is a feeling that transcends calm. In stillness when one is alone in nature’s benevolent lap, one can taste true serenity” ~ By Poet.
Sprawling relaxed on the carpet of grass
Looking up into the wide unending space of the sky
Here I lie with no nagging thoughts in my mind
All I hear is the murmur of the wind passing by
The rustling leaves battle against the wind’s might
The moon peeps from behind the billowy clouds.
Stars shine like silver sequins on a flowing veil
Now I enjoy a lovely respite from the bustling crowds.
Dew drops have dotted on the blades of grass
Giving a cooling sensation all over the skin
When I lie quiet, caught within nature’s clasp,
Ripples of peace and joy rise from within.
The stresses of life are left far behind
And a blissful quietude wraps me round.
It has bloomed here in this checkered shade,
Where peace and tranquility find their ground.
An all pervading serenity stills the thudding fear,
And whispers, "All is well, for those who believe."
We may not get peace from triumph’s fleeting glow,
But through nature’s quiet grace, it we receive.
This is a great moment of tranquility that I enjoy
It isn't the absence of storm's booming might,
Nor a moment of bliss lowered down from above,
But a sheltered calm that fills the heart with light.
