September Summer

Memories of children's chatter
Lightly rock lonely playground swings
Yellowing grass, thirsty and thin
Bronzed hours sealed up in ship bottles
Daylight's ample breath slows, shallow
School bus dawn's mounted regiment.
Summer fat squirrels bury nuts

This is excellent-every line of it. I think my favorite may be the 6th. :)

Summer is beautiful, the liveliest season of all, but all too soon it is gone and all too soon the year has gone and another year starts with yet another season. An awesome poem Michelle. Hugs, Jenny.

"summer fat squirrels" - they do thin down in the autumn yet I never thought about it until this second. Good job Michelle!
