A disaster never to be forgotten. From far away my wife woke me up to watch. Great poetry.

Your poem is solemn and uplifting—each line carries the weight of remembrance and the resilience of rebirth. The phoenix metaphor is powerful, honoring loss while affirming hope. You've captured a moment that changed the world with grace and strength.

And then one heartache on top of another. Visiting the 911 museum and seeing the reflection pools was sobering. I took pics of the towers in June that year. I was on the top of the Empire State Building. My sis was on top of the twin towers in August that year! One of the firemen was someone I graduated with (h.s.) Our history..what we live through! Hugs and peace, sweet Valsa xx

I too had been to the twin towers in June as a tourist. Hardly after three months, I accidentally witnessed that horrifying incident at the very moment it happened, as we were watching some news on the T.V. We didn't know what really happened. After two years I could visit the site with my sister and family staying in the U.S. Then the renovation works were in progress. It was sad to see the towers we had seen in all their majesty sometime back, being raced down to mere rubble.
