Sent to darkness

With a creak that sounds so loud and a chill the deeper goes quick light touch clings to the face down into darkness we do go above us does the warmth lie and the lights that shine so bright once there we did belong yet now we’re cast away chairs the tilt to one side books that gather dust so deep blankets that no one does use papers faded with many years every corner with cobwebs filled strings that dangle from light bulbs old memories in boxes that no one recalls all here cast aside for another day knowing not just what was done no reasonable words sent us away welcome to now we are not send into darkness hidden away in the cold chill of night windows above lit with dim light briefly flashes as cars race away tears do fall within the night
