The aroma of turkey baking Children’s laughter in the den Sneaking bites from the kitchen Hugging the new arrivals of friends The scent of smoke in the air Crackling leaves beneath my feet A delicious taste of raindrops in the air Feeling the gentle breeze all around The trace of November’s tantalizing flavor A crackling fire bringing warmth to the room Love the way Thanksgiving brings tasty treats And joyous clasping of hands against hands Thanksgiving odors are brisk and fulfilling Echoes of happiness drifting past my ears Enjoying the temptations from the kitchen While whispering love to all the family there I’m so thankful for the bouquets of the season Raindrops dripping off the gutters on the house Succulent meals that are baked with pure love To touch the hearts of those that partake November 16, 2019 Smell sound taste touch repeat sense. A brilliant poem dear Regina, I agree with Victor, why shouldn't we all have a Thanksgiving day - to me its is a humble day of joy - best of luck for the contest, Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Hi Gina. A most inspiring poem. Its so easy to indulge in family around the Holidays. Its to bad that we only are with a large portion of our family a few times a year. Thanks for sharing this and good luck in the contest. OOH thanks for your verse about the fire, it helped me just think of another poem to write about The Lodge. Hope you enjoy it

Hi Regina, This is a good entry for the contest theme. You painted such a lovely and heartfelt scene in many homes on Thanksgiving day. I really liked the quote above your poem, I agree, "There is always, Something to be thankful for." Great job. I wish you the best of luck in contest:-) Alexis
