Senryu


                                       Senryu a Haiku
                                    Syllables not many
                                  Sums up to seventeen
                                  Simple lines, two in five
                                    Second line in seven
                               Standard lines, without rhyme
                                      Satirical tale told

John Watt January 21, 2022 at 12:39 PM Paulette, for years I thought I was writing haiku but was actually writing senryu. I tend to write more about the human condition than strictly about nature. As far as Senyru Haiku, you are right, the human condition with a bit of humor is classified as a Senryu.
