Senior Jolly Follies

          12/2/2023

Oh, the excruciating job of finding
a comfortable pair of shoes!
And why do we fall asleep so darn 
early at night?

Driving after sundown is a fright!
Hey, gravity, stop pulling on my face!
There's a younger man I wish to date!

Desiring to dance like a sexy Sambista, 
but why does sitting seem to be my  fate.

Can you please help me bring the those
groceries in?
Stop staring at me~that's really no sin.

By the way, what's my cousin's phone 
number, I cannot recall.

Seniors to God, are close and very dear.
What's that you said, my dear?
So sorry, I cannot hear!

I am so pleased you liked the that funny title, and cartoon . The vartoon Inspired my poem. The t shirt…” Old but not extincr” Had me in tears laughing. That last stanza is me! Always saying to my daughter,,What what.)) but my mind thinks like a 40 year old. I can be seriuos or silly. I feel free to be me. And nothunting for approval. I got to a poinrt in my life,lomg ago. Eve Roper Date: 12/2/2023 6:25:00 PM hahahaha,,The first line is me, Hell find me a good comfortable shoe and not at teen-shoe. Second line, less sleep and up all hours of the night going pee. Third, fourth line, I just don't drive at night unless an in emergency like a trip to the Hospital. Saggy skin, a Bra just makes them uncomfortable. Fifth line, NO, young men never had never will.. Looks like we are sisters in aging, except for the men. I hardly go out dancing anymore cause I can’t. Once I broke my leg, my dancing days ended. And be grateful you can still drive I can’t. I can’t even make it to the car.. but tell you what… I am very grateful to be alive and have no other health issues. I think I told you once I stay far away from doctors. I only see mine twice a year.. that’s all. But it would be fun to be young again you agree! I would love it. To be able to run again that would be super.. that anything after 6 o’clock at night that might help with your having to go to the bathroom. Sorry to bring it up but it’s a real issue for people not only older people. And people in their 40s can sleep.. oh listen enjoy whatever abilities we have. And most of all be grateful for them..
