Self-Worth
What is it that stifles so many we see
From becoming all they could possibly be?
Knowledge is something they don’t seem to lack.
In problem solving, they seem to possess a knack.
It is not because they are afraid or hard work
A challenge - - impossible - - they will just smirk.
So what’s it about that holds them down
And causes them to wear a terrible frown.
Could it be they question their own self-worth?
Inside they fall short to join in mirth.
Perplexity is a mode they know all too well
Falling short must be a living hell.
Self-worth is not measured by what we know
It is the willingness to accept who we are as we go.
Does that mean we will always do what is right
Or that others will approve, as we come into sight?
That is not what matters from what I have seen.
To ask, “what I have learned” – “was I intentionally mean”?
We are her to learn lessons and in that mistakes.
With so many we touch, we will create wakes.
Perfection is a long and endless road
Those who try, carry a heavy load.
To totally accept and love inside
You will feel welling up peace and pride.
Our worth was established the day we were born
To see his children struggle, must cause God to mourn.
We are born with a soul and therefore the same
The challenge is to steer clear of the human game.
