See You Later

It is never ‘goodbye’ for me Only ‘see you later’ Such sorrow in a final goodbye There is no sorrow greater ‘See you later’ feels less final Is easier on heart and mind ‘Goodbye’ can be so hard to voice ‘See you later’ gentler and kind Whether temporary or permanent Or you have gone to meet your maker There will be no goodbye from me Only …. ‘see you later’

You my friend read my mind all the way from across the pond. I have always said, see you later, or ciao for now, never goodbye, goodbye is so final, not for me, can't bring myself to say it. Dear Deb, this resonates with me so, so much as I feel exactly the same. ‘ Such sorrow in a final goodbye’ is so poignant. I always say ‘ see you later ‘ or, ‘ until the next time’ for then there is hope - there is comfort through parting. Ah i thought i was the only one debz, see as always you write how i feel, i hate goodbyes, and i think also its an australian thing to say see you instead of bye. Haha i hate the word “ goodbye” for real. Loved this ! Hope you are doing well
