My driving I thought was sublime But I failed my test the first time Staring down at the wheel It was hard to conceal That failure to me was a crime So I applied to take another test Very determined I would try my best I answered every question And I drove to perfection The examiner was very impressed! I remember doing a perfect parallel park. It's funny. My instructor gave me that trick where you line up the back and front passenger windows with the car in front of the parking spot. And it worked perfectly. Congrats on your win. :-)

This may be fiction, but failing the first time (driving part) was my reality. Cute little ditty, Jan - much needed after reading so many serious poems in a row ... CayCay

Thanks Paul - in part it is true - I failed my test in the UK and simply stopped thinking about driving - then we moved to the Island and I had to learn and I then passed first time here :-) hugs Jan xx

I passed mine second time - first one in the UK I failed and didn't bother again - then when we moved to the Island I needed to drive and passed:-) My driving instructor was fabulous he used to pick me up and I had my young son in the back of the car - use used to read his books and play then fall asleep - he was never a distraction - the instructor said it was rare for him to allow a child to be in the car when someone was learning - my son is very special indeed!:-) hugs Jan xx
