Seasons of Time

The universe is all abloom with seasons, diamonds left in wakes of stars (1) (whose flowers linger) viewed through lenses binding star’s birth to its death, its ghost, perhaps, not there at all for life to visit (chances blown). (2) Black holes excrete, make light of mass (they once dined on) in fiery plumes. (3) Monstrosities (their mass inferred not really seen) warp space and time, unmetered rhythms, rhymeless songs etch calendars on stone (4) that’s spent. It looks to me like nothing’s static, past lost wages pay most rent for future change. What made frail mountains high now feeds tomorrow’s slime. The galaxies that spin, pearl seasons strung on gravitation’s looms, (5) the light of all their shining parts (some know the truth) is just on loan, and air that fills their distant sails (as ancients prophesied), God’s breath. Each Season lives to birth new Seasons (joy of sex greets seasoned tars). (6) Is God outside of time? Old Testaments call God a jealous God! (7) Whose truth got changed? God tied a rainbow’s pastel trace to Grace to come? One moment He regrets creation; next, perhaps, forgives Himself? Does God reveal that God can change? Creation’s truth is seasonal? The infinite is such a stretch for man! It’s faith that’s ours, not truth (much less, eternal life!) God’s Love’s gift too (what’s owned, except by Grace)! Theology’s true test is Science, man’s disclaimers sound so odd. Creation must sport God’s real ‘brand!’ If you can’t see this, your steer’s bum! God called creation “Good!” It pleased Him. Your faith lives on dusty shelf? Does Grace mean child can’t make mistakes? God’s jealous God? Delusional! To live in God’s will blesses you, frees you from sin’s demonic ruth. Christ’s “yoke is easy,” LOVE IS GRACE! Fear just enslaves you! Fear’s God’s face? Brian Johnston 21st of February in 2022 Poets Notes: (1) When a star dies sometimes it does blow itself up but there is now evidence that other times the star’s core remains and it can actually be a solid diamond that’s bigger than the earth in size. (2) A star that blows itself up is called a “supernova” (nothing is left behind!) (3) Some black holes do emit plumes of light at their rotational poles so they are not all just places where matter disappears. (4) This is a fun allusion to the 10 Commandments but most of the history of the universe is actually written in the stars. (5) For some reason it appears to be the case that most galaxies are found in strings through space and not randomly distributed throughout the universe as one might expect if a Big Bang was the whole story of creation. (6) “All men shall be sailors then until the sea shall free them!” and one definition for the word “tar” is a sailor. (7) I think modern Christians have more trouble thinking of God as a jealous God. While the Old Testament seems to supports that idea, the New Testament does not. Might God desire more to save us from sin than He desires to be worshiped?
