SEASONS - WINTER

This is a poem request on my Instagram page (Daisy Meadows) where I show my first book published. Little Daisy Poetry by Daisy Meadows. WINTER There's a chill in the air, And a blanket of pure white snow, I look out of my window, It always makes my heart glow. A cosy night later, by the fire, Mug of hot chocolate, warming my hand, With chocolate sprinkles on top. Taking in the view of the land. Fascinated, reading the latest book, Of the wintery tales, Sure have me hooked! Turning the pages, As the story unfolds, A canvas of white and a frost in the air, The tale of winter is told. Wrapped in my cosy jumper, To keep me snug and warm, I take a peep outside, as I open the door, On this beautiful winter morn. I run around in a circle, Leaving my footprints behind. Crispy, crunching, sounds underfoot, Then I quickly run back inside. Winter girl - absolutely!!!

This is a very good poem. There is always a stillness that comes with the white wonderland of the first winter snow. And some of that stillness lies within us. That is a good thing.

Though it is biting chill outside, you have created a cozy setting for yourself. Sitting by the hearth, enjoying chocolate coffee and reading the latest book. I feel like joining you . Lovely poem jeanette...

So beautifully described. Here in Malta it rarely rains, bright skies but cold. I wonder what we have in store for February, but no snow.

Lovely poem Jeanette. I love how the snow somehow makes everything seem as one. A quiet descends and I will always remember me as a kid playing in the snow and not wearing gloves. That feeling of stinging hands. See what you've done here? :) I'm transported back to childhood through your poem! :) All the best for '24. Cheers - Gary
