Seasonal Heart

Watch as the leaves of a fall sunset drift away, Filling air with the red stains of what once was. Fleeting times, they cannot stay there forever, At some point as winter sets, everything falls. Just like the love I had with you at that time, It was a fleeting emotion, lasting no longer than the summer. As I reached out for it once more, I was disappointed, It had drifted away into the cicadas’ chorus. Watch as the snow falls, covering the ground Filling the air with specks of the cold white. Fleeting emotions, they will melt away soon, At some point, spring with set in to melt everything. Just like the love I had with you at that time, It was a fleeting emotion, I thought your warmth had melted my heart. But as soon as you pulled your hand away, The ice had returned once again. Just like the love I had with you, the seasons wore it down, But even when it is seemingly gone, spring will bring a new blossom. Summer will bring a new warmth, fall with bring the red to my face, And winter… Winter will purify my broken heart.
