Seashells

Our trembling hearts
Caught in wistful moments
The magic inbetween
Entwining time on lusters strange

Pleasant sadness
Arrays of sunshine
Warming their special day
We are suspended faeries in place

Then snatched
Dragged willingly
Away from the familiar shoreline

This conjures up so many memories for me; my first time on the beach collecting all those broken bits of shell, believing I had treasure ... to that little box of half a dozen sea-shells I still have in my room, of my most special finds. Wistful moments ... suspended faeries in places ... pleasant sadness ... you know how to move the soul when it comes to sentimentality. Lovely. I still collect seashells from time to time, though I don't often go to the beach. One morning i Pismo beach, my mom and I decided to go for a walk along the shoreline. All across were sand dollars. Justin Bordner Date: 5/21/2016 6:55:00 PM Your beautiful, vivid poem made me wonder about where seashells come from Laura, then the poetry conjured the vision of every heart having it's own shell...some ridged and wide, spotted with salt, others spun and crowned, so many soft and creamy shades of white, you'd think every drop of love rain is expressd in those gentlte hues...each having the smoothest pink believable within...J.A.B.
