Sea of Tears
Feelings, I thought genuine,
were merely a bunch of lies.
And the memories we've shared
only bring tears to my eyes.
You easily deceived me
as my hopes began to climb.
And love slipped through my fingers
like the shifting sands of time.
You have managed to convert
my elation into pain.
And your empty promises
left me alone once again.
Your excuses weighed heavy,
like a stone lodged in my heart.
Yet, I fell for every word
believing we'd never part.
In a sea of tears, dreams drown,
within the depths of sorrow.
And my future's abandoned
to the whims of tomorrow.
You've convinced me that love is
but lust; by another name.
And even if my heart heals,
I will never feel the same.
