Scream To Sing

A street life scream swells
into every cell of her eyes,
tears of thunder find no escape
into the landscape of Man
so she lets the burning rain
rampage upon her frustrated soul,
she feels no mercy tonight
asks for no reason
this is her season, her North Star,
suffer like an orphan she tells herself,
suffer for the sake of sanity she sighs,
a smile of defiance dances for a moment
across her forlorn face
as she realizes sharply
that to scream inside 
is to prepare to sing outside,
she understands her song now,
now she's ready to sing instead of scream,
she has discovered the voice of Trinity

Alesia Leach Date: 4/21/2025 8:58:00 AM J.A.B., this one burns with truth and then sings with it. “Tears of thunder find no escape…” that image alone gripped me, but it’s the moment she realizes that her scream is just the beginning of her song that took my breath away. There’s so much power in choosing to sing--especially after everything that tries to silence you. And that final line… “She has discovered the voice of Trinity.” Pure poetic resurrection. This is strength, this is spirit, and this is soul-sound. Beautiful work.
