Notes About The Poem

uniforms - even in virtual school.

School Uniforms

School uniforms
are the last, tired gasp of a
dying patriarchy.

You see a DARK bra
under my blouse? Oh, God! Who
knew girls wore those!

School uniforms, with
long sleeves, aren't made for
pandemic washing.

A guy told me that
girls in school uniforms are
a core **** motif.

I told him his grasp
of **** tropes must rival
that of our school board.

School uniforms are
meant to UNsex otherwise
provocative girls.

p.s. I write short stories too =]

I worked in a school for 16 years the 'office style uniform' was taken to extremes by some of the senior girls and was so provocative with tight blouses and short skirts :-( hugs jan xx

I never paid any attention as I have always though girls look best naked as the day they were born ......Aloha! Rico

This brings back memories. We wore uniforms 1st through 12th gade. How well I remembe those dull, unfashionable uniforms the girls wore. Your last stanza says it all, I have seen pics of some of my former classmates after they got out os school and found them quite provacative. Perhaps the uniforms were a means of population control.

I've never worn a school uniform... I always went to public schools. God bless you always my friend
