School

School A teacher smiles with the bad news He won’t get his grades, in their view He’s wasted ten years attending school he’s good in PE and the swimming pool It’s last-ditch, with exams months away At ten parent’s evenings they failed to say Gave you no warning until it’s too late And abandoned your child to their fate They worry about the school’s reputation Lied constantly about your kid’s education Sit in the corner, out of the way, amused Difficult to teach him, leave him confused Previous parent’s evenings, nothing but smiles Sent you off happy, oblivious of trials Misled you till now, dyslexia diagnosed Exonerates the school, who’re never exposed. Lesson learned, school’s lie, don’t trust At parent’s evenings, questioning a must. David Cox 14/01/23

It definitely is the parents' responsibility to be observant of the child and knowledgeable about their child. I enjoyed reading your work. A child with dyslexia can be helped today and there are many people who are famous who had/has the problem so don't give up. Thanks for sharing. Sara

Thanks for the comment. My experience is of teachers lying at parents evening, so the parents don't ask any questions and go home happy. In year eleven around May, they finally tell the parents their child won't pass the exams.
