I’ve Been Betrayed Taken for granted Hurt and humiliated Abused by people I trusted Had my dreams and ambitions shattered Sometimes I wonder how I managed to survive Though some wounds were superficial Some were as deep as could be Each left a bruise A mark A blemish A damaged heart A mistreated psyche Scars are the path to the soul Not saying I’ll never let anyone enter AP: Honorable Mention 2020 Submitted on September 16, 2018 for contest VERSES OF METAPHORS II sponsored by LAURA LOO - RANKED 1ST
