Notes About The Poem

Just had a scammer try to get into my new puter. Had to shut it off for awhile so they would give up and go away.

Scammer In Training

Pick them at random, the best way to start.
The very old or very young are the easiest to part,
With the info you need to get the ball rolling.
You scare them at first and then start cajoling.

By gaining their trust and becoming their friend,
You'll get access to funds and accounts without end.
Tell them their computer's been hacked by a scammer,
Or they owe for back taxes, will be locked in the slammer.

But you're there to help and make everything right.
For a small monthly fee it will all be alright.
Once you get those numbers then you are home free,
And it's pay day already for you and for me.

They are so DISGUSTING, these sick human beings on the internet tricking certain people who somehow still do not know about them. You wrote on the topic very well, dear Judy.

Judy, I have shut myself off from the outside world. I rarely answer emails and only read those from family and responses to those I send, the rest get deleted unopened. If I get a call and don't recognize the number, I do not answer. i trust no one! This is one messed up world! I enjoyed your poem:)

Thank you so much Arturo. Glad you like this. Inspired by a scammer attack over my puter. They were trying to sell me bogus anti-virus protection. However I already have Norton which came with my computer and McAfee which I bought so knew they were lying to me. God Bless, JB

It is an increasing problem Judy we keep getting calls from 'microsoft' and sadly our friend got taken in by them, its scary that someone can access your computer and remote control it for criminal purposes: I recently wrote a poem about scams www.poetrysoup.com/poem/phone_and_e_mail_scams_1038660. we just need to be aware and let other's know who are vulnerable. :-) hugs jan xx

they are scum Judy - it's a lot of rubbish but they persist and terrify people into doing as they say or 'risk' them shutting the computer down and the ONLY way they could do this is if you follow their instructions which then allows them to be able to remote access your computer - then they ask for money and as our friend wouldn't give his bank details they put a password on so he couldn;t access his data - took hubby 4 hours to work out how to undo what they had done:-( hugs jan xx

Thank you so much Jan. I too got a message on my computer from "Microsoft". Wanted to sell me bogus anti virus protection. Said if \I didn't call them right away they would shut down my computer for my own safety. Thank God I didn't get taken. God Bless, JB
