Saturday Morning Thoughts

See thru lace upon your arms
A smile that could break ten men’s hearts
Sitting right in front of me in study hall

Passing me notes from your friend
Knowing damn well I couldn’t pretend
You’re the one I always wanted and that’s the truth
Now here’s the proof….

This has always been so much more
You’re the baggage I’ll carry up to heavens door
You’ll probably be the reason
They won’t let me in

Cause I’m holding on to love and lust
I can’t get my heart to give you up
Love’s like purgatory
When you’re living a lie
But I still try…

I try running from you to clear my mind
If you felt this way you’d understand why
Every passing second is hell to pay

I can’t say I’d ever trade our first glance
But the pain I live today is from missing my chance
Did I really have one
Not sure I want to know

I wish you the best in all that you do
I’m here busy loving and wanting you
I’m sorry for the distance
But there’s no other way

If I never see you again face to face
Know no one else on earth can take your place
These thoughts I had this morning
When I opened my eyes
Live your life…

This has always been so much more
You’re the baggage I’ll carry up to heavens door
You’ll probably be the reason
They won’t let me in

Cause I’m holding on to love and lust
I can’t get my heart to give you up
Love’s like purgatory
When you’re living a lie

This love’s like purgatory….
And I’m living a lie….
