Notes About The Poem

Saturday Evening in Texas

Saturday evening . . .
calm,
silent,
a touch of heaven
on earth.

The sun sets,
its golden rays
kiss my skin,
warming me . . .
from the outside in.

I feel the sun
smile upon me,
and I smile back,
grateful for each
passing moment.

In every minute,
I taste the joy
of simply living.

Yes,
the sunset closes
the day . . .
but in its fading light,
tomorrow
quietly begins.
