Satiated Within Thoughts

beneath the dahlia rise
splashed across morning skies
i lose myself in this thick air
and rumination of mind
where thoughts of you linger

i can feel this moist air
as it breathes heavy
upon me
like a windless breath
beneath a caress
from lover's lips
in passion's heat

i wring myself
among these drops
beaded as they fall
across bare skin
before the climax
of memories
break with day

the blue depths
of cloudless skies
does not compare
to the voids within
my longing

i yearn for you
more so than this day
yet momentarily
am satiated
in memories
that blush me
like morning's rise

Sandra, I am humbled by this one. Wow! What a metaphoric write! A winner to my trembling heart as I read it. "i wring myself among these drops beaded as they fall across bare skin before the climax of memories break with day" WOW!

I don’t know how I missed your second comment but this was the last poem I wrote before Montana so I had some catching up to do when I returned. Sorry. Thanks again for your great comment :) hugs

I did not realize I had already commented, but I do not care. I still wanted to comment again. I may be back later to comment another time actually.

A hot write, sensuous and titillating write in fact erotic and yet gentle and lingers long after one has read this WOW poem. It leaves a tingling sensation - well penned Sandra. Hugs, Jennifer.

Memories serve as therapeutic / avoidance company - at least they have in my life. This is excellent writing that elevated me to magic inside its ink! Poetry hugs ... CayCay
