Sarah Princess

Sarah ~ Princess Sarah, princess, A promise wakes your mornings, From your cradle You look into the sunlight – Eyes filled with wonder And all the hope of dawn - For you rejoice In every color of the rainbow, The covenant, Shining through each storm Made of rain and sunlight. Sarah, princess, When sunsets meet the daylight Tiny hands reach out For moonbeams, For a fragile dream - Of children unimagined More numerous than stars - In lullabies that swaddle you Planting songs For your soul to sing Like cooing doves - vespers in the twilight. Sarah, princess, Hidden in your heart the wonders And the promise that grows each day When your first steps run To catch them in the wind – Playing tag with rainbows Leaving their shadows In the desert – Crowning days to come With Heaven’s prophecy - A dream, like your name, borning in your infancy.

I am glad you have a high placement, Sam, especially now I read your answer to Jacob that you spent quite a bit of time on it. I read further down this page that you like to discover the meaning of names. I do too, and I'm about to choose a name to stand for my next contest. :) This will be with a repetitive rule as it was for my contest called "Sarah".

Julia, I am honored with your placement of "Sarah." Thank you. This was a wonderful theme - had fun writing "Sarah" especially in the context of her biblical story. I look forward to the next name that you choose for your contest. Blessings to you. So grateful for the time you take to sponsor and judge contests.

My wife and I have a niece Sara who has lived up to the nobility and charm of her princess name, with a heart of largesse and a free smile for all. Love your poem - is it for a Sarah in your life?

Ah, I can see that now. "The covenant, / Shining through each storm", "Of children unimagined / More numerous than stars", "Leaving their shadows / In the desert – / Crowning days to come / With Heaven’s prophecy". It all makes perfect sense now. I enjoy this all the more now!

What a blessing she must be in your family, John. People like this are true treasures. Thank you sharing her story. Actually, the Sarah in this poem is based on Abraham's Sarah but envisioned as an infant for the contest - Sarah. Thank you for your feedback!!!!
