Sansar

I can't deny the allure of stability. A red-brick house with a front porch and wooden pickets, A mango tree with summer-drooping branches, A spice garden in pitchers and pots. The long corridor that runs to the living room, The stairs that lead up to the worldly roof. Chiming winds curling the curtains on the windows, Darkness receding from south to north. Where Your steps will echo in the rhythm of the rain, And where I will be, drenched in your scent, Reciting Tagore. Ah! What a life it'll be! You, me and eternity. I want it all and I want the road, Sunsets, gasoline and upcoming bends. My greed has never known bounds, My hubris to get to you and get away. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 19 / 12 / 2016 'Sansar' means family microcosmical, while in a broader sense it denotes the physical world.

7! Great poem, Tamal - it rushes to the reader, like we are reading your mind. "Sansar" like the virtual reality project? Ah, to have a mango tree where one can pick a ripe mango and eat it.... Yet there is also the Road. I've been hard upon the road for almost 36 years now. Once had a big garden, now I have nothing there, which is both good and bad.

It definitely takes a lot of care. I am accustomed to apartment life these days, but I do have spice garden along side a few flower plants on my balcony. I have heard of it, but I've never gone online on it. 'Sansar' microcosmically means family, while in broader sense it denotes the physical world. My intention of using it was the former. :)

It reads like a poem of attraction and repelling. Want to stay, want to go, To love, to hate. Beautiful poem Tamal.

Thank you, Darren. The initial idea was to create a sense of dichotomy on a few levels. As always, thanks for reading!
